Charcoal Photo Tile

No colour, no filter, no noise: only light, shadow and the stroke of a charcoal stick. The Charcoal Photo Tile turns your photo into a classic black-and-white drawing and fires the result onto real ceramic.

What makes this style special?

The Charcoal drawing style works the way a draughtsman works: shape first, then tone. Visible hatching, soft transitions across the skin, deep shadows along jaw and nose, and a faint paper grain under all of it. Face, gaze and expression stay exactly as they are in your photo — nothing is prettified, it is simply told differently.

On ceramic, black and white does something colour cannot: the tile never clashes. It works against a white wall, an oak cabinet and a dark hallway, year after year.

Who is it for?

Charcoal is the style for the moments you do not want to celebrate loudly. A wedding photo, your parents, grandparents, the pet that is no longer here. A charcoal drawing feels like a keepsake rather than a decoration — which is exactly why it has been the classic portrait style for centuries.

How do I display it?

Want to hang it? Add a hanging hook. Prefer it standing on a shelf, mantel or desk? Choose the tile stand. Note that every stand covers a strip of the bottom edge — if you add text, put it at the top.
