About this product
No colour, no filter, no noise: only light, shadow and the stroke of a charcoal stick — on a tile with six sides. The Hexagon Charcoal Photo Tile turns your photo into a classic black-and-white drawing and fires the result onto a six-sided ceramic tile of 17 by 15 centimetres.
What makes this style special?
The Charcoal Drawing style works the way a draughtsman works: first the form, then the tone. Visible hatching, soft transitions in the skin, deep shadows along jaw and nose, and a faint paper texture beneath it all. Face, gaze and expression stay exactly as they are in your photo — nothing is prettified, only told differently.
On ceramic, black and white does something colour does not: the tile never looks out of place. It suits a white wall, an oak cabinet and a dark hallway, year after year.
Why this format?
A hexagon catches the eye because you do not expect it anywhere. On a wall it reads as a honeycomb, a crystal, a road sign that turned out to be art. And because hexagons tessellate without gaps, you can build a wall out of them: one hangs beautifully, three is a composition, five is a wall people keep looking at.
The flip side is worth saying out loud: the four corners of your photo are cut away. What is left is a wide middle field of 17 by 15 centimetres — and charcoal is made for exactly that. The drawing lets its edges fade gently into the paper by itself, so where the corners go, there was nothing you will miss.
Who is it for?
Charcoal is the style for the moments you do not want to celebrate loudly: a wedding photo, your parents, grandparents, the pet that is no longer there. On a hexagon it feels like a keepsake that still gets noticed. And for the collector: start with one, add two later, and you have a wall that grew instead of a wall you bought.
How do I display it?
Hang it with the hanging eye: a self-adhesive disc with a small brass eye that you stick on the back yourself. Stand it up with the tile stand, the black upright holder — there is no wooden stand for this shape. Note that the stand covers a narrow strip of the bottom edge.

Beautiful gift of a beautiful memory
I ordered this for my husband, for our first wedding anniversary. It was delivered promptly, I had separately ordered a nice little stand and it’s now on display in the toilet (next to some other fun tiles). Both he, and I, are very happy with it! I’ll also have one made of his daughters soon, for his birthday.

Super fun!
Really so beautiful!! The little tile exceeded my expectations in every way. I gave it as a gift and the person who received it was hugely surprised and is very happy with it. The little tile has been given a place of honor. I will certainly not hesitate to give another tile as a gift or to order one for myself.
