Hexagon Delft Blue Photo Tile

A Dutch tradition four centuries old, made personal for you today — on a tile with six sides. The Hexagon Delft Blue Photo Tile captures your photo in classic Delft Blue style, with an oval medallion, an ornate floral border and cobalt on porcelain white, and fires the result onto a six-sided ceramic tile of 17 by 15 centimetres.

What makes this style special?

Our AI's Delft Blue style rebuilds your portrait as a traditional Delft tile painting. Facial structure, expression and recognisable features stay true to the original, but drawn with the soft brushstrokes and deep cobalt blue of the old masters of Delft. An oval medallion centres the portrait; graceful flowers, leaves and ornaments frame it — and which of those ornamented layouts it becomes is your choice.

With several people in the photo, everyone stays in view. Our AI adjusts the composition so that all the main figures fit neatly inside the medallion; nobody is cropped away.

Why this format?

A hexagon catches the eye because you do not expect it anywhere. On a wall it reads as a honeycomb, a crystal, a road sign that turned out to be art. And because hexagons tessellate without gaps, you can build a wall out of them: one hangs beautifully, three is a composition, five is a wall people keep looking at.

A Delft tile has always carried corner ornaments, and a hexagon has no four corners. That is why the layouts on this format are designed specifically for the hexagon: the medallion in the middle, the flowers and tendrils along six sides instead of in four corners, so nothing that belonged there gets cut away. What you choose is what you get.

Who is it for?

The gift for anyone who loves Dutch tradition and wants something that is not the same tile the neighbours have. Wonderful for a birthday, anniversary or housewarming, as a personalised souvenir for an international guest — and for the collector: start with one, add two later, and you have a Delft Blue wall that grew instead of a wall you bought.

How do I display it?

Hang it with the hanging eye: a self-adhesive disc with a small brass eye that you stick on the back yourself. Stand it up with the tile stand, the black upright holder — there is no wooden stand for this shape. Note that the stand covers a narrow strip of the bottom edge.
