Delft Blue Photo Tiles in a Box Frame

A tile tableau, the kind that once hung above the stove and along the hearth — today with your photos in it. Delft Blue Photo Tiles in a Box Frame captures four photos in classic Delft Blue style and fires them onto four 15-centimetre ceramic tiles, each with its own medallion, together in one 30 by 30 box frame. It is by a wide margin the largest thing we make in ceramic.

What makes this style special?

Our AI's Delft Blue style rebuilds each portrait as a traditional Delft tile painting. Facial structure, expression and recognisable features stay true to the original, but drawn with the soft brushstrokes and deep cobalt blue of the old masters of Delft. On every tile a medallion centres the portrait; graceful flowers, leaves and corner ornaments frame it.

If one of your photos has several people in it, everyone on that tile stays in view. Our AI adjusts the composition so that all the main figures fit neatly inside that medallion; nobody is cropped away.

Why this format?

Delft Blue has always been an art of tiles side by side: a tableau of four, six or twelve tiles, each with its own scene, with the seams simply running between them. This is exactly that. Four tiles sit edge to edge inside the frame, each with its own photo, its own medallion and its own border — and the cross of seams falls exactly between the four tiles, never through a face. You can see it is fired ceramic, in four parts, with the depth and the faint sheen only ceramic gives.

Four grandchildren, four pets, the four faces of one family, grandma, grandpa and their two children: one tile per person, and together one story. The frame is a real box frame: the ceramic sits recessed, with a border around it. Choose between natural oak-look and black.

Who is it for?

The gift for anyone who loves Dutch tradition — at the size that carries a wall. For a wedding, an anniversary or a retirement, as a family portrait to hand down, or as a souvenir for someone who wants to take the Netherlands home. A gift you do not slip into a bag but hand over.

How do I hang it?

You do not have to do anything. It arrives framed and complete, ready to go on the wall — no tile stand, no hanging hook, no loose parts. For the same reason this product has no options: there is nothing to add, because it is all already on it.

Where grandma and grandpa had a saying on a single Delft Blue tile, you hang up four — each with a face you know. Painted-in text is not available on this format; here the photos are the whole story.
