This is no longer a tile. Four 15-centimetre ceramic tiles carry a single 30 by 30 image, mounted in a real box frame — Photo Tiles in a Box Frame is by a wide margin the largest thing we make in ceramic.

What makes it special?

One photo is spread across four tiles, and those tiles sit edge to edge inside the frame. So a cross of seams runs straight through your image. That is not a flaw: it is exactly why this piece does not look like a poster. You can see it is fired ceramic, in four parts, with the depth and the faint sheen only ceramic gives — and from a metre and a half away the seams disappear and you just see the photo.

The frame is a real box frame: the ceramic sits recessed, with a border around it. Choose between natural oak-look and black.

Which style will it be?

You upload one photo and then choose how it gets painted: Watercolour Painting, Charcoal Drawing, Van Gogh Style or Abstract Line Art. Those are four painted and drawn styles on purpose, because on this format they work better than a photograph: a brushstroke or a drawn line simply carries on across the seam between two tiles, where a crisp photographic edge would look interrupted. And at 30 centimetres you finally see what is happening — the strokes are as large as they are on a painting.

How do I hang it?

You do not have to do anything. It arrives framed and complete, ready to go on the wall — no tile stand, no hanging hook, no loose parts. For the same reason this product has no options: there is nothing to add, because it is all already on it.
