A baby gift that lasts a lifetime.
The name, birth date, time, and weight — painted into real ceramic. Toys disappear, clothes shrink — a birth tile stays.

The baby's details — not a sticker, not a print: painted in.
Type the name, birth date, time, and weight. Our AI processes that text into the tile in the same style as the artwork. With Delft Blue, your words are painted in cobalt brushstrokes inside an elegant cartouche — as if a Delft master painter made it just for you.

Why a birth tile?
Three reasons Dutch families have been picking birth tiles for generations — and why this gift outlasts the rest.
A Dutch tradition
Birth tiles belong to Dutch culture like beschuit met muisjes — the sweet rusks with sugared anise seeds served at every newborn visit. A Delft Blue birth tile is that heritage at its finest: recognisable for every generation, beloved by grandparents.
More personal than a stuffed animal
Name, date, time and weight — all painted into the cobalt brushwork. No other baby gets the same tile. In 30 years, the child unwraps it from the box and instantly knows: this is mine.
Stays, while everything else changes
Real ceramic, fired at 1080°C. Doesn't fade, doesn't break under normal use, doesn't go out of style. The nursery becomes a kids' room, a teenager's room, their own home — the tile moves along.

Who is a birth tile for?
The birth tile is versatile — a gift that fits every role around a newborn.
For the parents themselves
As a self-gift or keepsake of an unforgettable moment. Many parents quietly order one for themselves, alongside what others bring.
Maternity-visit gift
The classic newborn visit: bringing a tile feels more personal than a stuffed animal or chocolates. Give it wrapped, or place it directly on the dresser.
Christening gift from godparents
A tile with the christening date added — optionally paired with a small cross. A treasured gift from godparents, visible in the home forever.
Baby gift from grandparents
Grandparents want to give something that lasts. A Delft Blue birth tile with the grandchild's name — indestructibly beautiful, recognisable to their generation.
What is Delft Blue, really?
A Delft Blue tile points back to a Dutch earthenware tradition stretching to the 17th century. At its peak (1640-1740), the city of Delft housed dozens of ceramic factories — around 33 at the height — producing tin-glazed earthenware with cobalt-oxide pigments: grey in the pot, vivid cobalt blue once fired at 1080°C.
Our tiles bring that classic Delftware style into a modern key: your photo and text are translated by our AI into the same cobalt brushstrokes, then printed on real ceramic. No potter's wheel, but the same Dutch warmth that made the original so beloved.
Two sizes — both real ceramic
Combine with a wooden tile holder for the dresser, or an invisible hook for the wall above the cot.
For which moment?
Maternity-visit gift.
The classic moment: visiting the newborn. Give it wrapped, or place it directly in the nursery — parents are always moved by it.
Gift from grandparents.
Grandparents want to give something that lasts. A Delft Blue birth tile with the grandchild's name — indestructibly beautiful.
Christening / baby blessing.
A tile with the christening date added, or as a set with a small cross. A treasured gift from godparents.
First birthday.
A tile with "1 year" and the favourite photo of the past year — a new tradition alongside the birth tile.
For the nursery.
On the wall above the cot or framed on the changing-table dresser. The tile grows with the child.
Twin gift.
Two tiles as a set, one for each baby. Or both names on one 20x20 XL tile — popular as a joint birth board.
The most personal birth tile as a baby gift
A birth tile as a baby gift is the most personal way to celebrate a newborn. We paint the name, birth date, time, and weight into cobalt brushstrokes — an elegant hand-painted cartouche, in the same style as the traditional Delft Blue around it. Toys disappear and clothes shrink, but this ceramic birth tile is still on the dresser twenty years later.
Whether you're looking for an original baby gift, a personalised birth present from grandma and grandpa, a lasting christening gift from godparents, or a twin tile with both babies' names — a birth tile with name and birth date fits every moment. Many customers pick the 20x20 cm XL size so the photo, name, date, time, and birth weight all fit comfortably.
Our tiles are real ceramic, fired at 1080°C like a traditional Delft tile. Order before 17:00 and your birth tile ships the same business day — perfect as a maternity-visit gift or paired with the traditional Dutch beschuit met muisjes in a baby gift basket. Free to design, pay only when the preview is perfect. A personal baby gift that lasts a lifetime.
What customers say
5 out of 5 starsEcht een oer-Hollands cadeau
5 out of 5 starsSouvenir voor Australische vriend
5 out of 5 starsWerkt op alle foto's super
Heb 3 verschillende foto's geprobeerd: portret, landschap en groepsfoto. Bij alle drie kwam het Delfts blauw effect prachtig uit. Het keramiek voelt premium aan en de tegelhouder erbij maakt het af. Aanrader!
4 out of 5 starsMooi tegeltje, donkerblauw was wel echt donker
Op zich een mooi resultaat, alleen werd mijn foto wel echt donker omdat de Delfts blauw stijl met diepe blauwtinten werkt. Een lichtere foto met meer contrast werkt waarschijnlijk beter. Volgende keer beter geprobeerd.

Frequently asked questions about the birth tile
You can fill in up to 4 lines inside one elegant cartouche — typically name, birth date, time, and weight (the standard birth-announcement set). Birthplace or length also work; just pick the 4 lines that matter most. Our AI paints all those lines in the same Delft Blue style as the tile, stacked in cobalt brushstrokes. Max ~40 characters per line.
Then you simply wait until after the birth — our production takes 24-48 hours, so even as a maternity-visit gift you have plenty of time. Or buy a gift card and give that to the parents so they can design the tile with the right details themselves.
Not at all. A tile with just the name and birth date in an elegant frame is also beautiful — perfect when the baby isn't born yet, or for a minimalist look. With a photo, you can keep it in full colour or have it transformed into Delft Blue style.
Yes — two ways. Both names + details on one tile (looks better in the 20x20 XL size — more space). Or order two separate tiles as a set, one for each baby. Many parents prefer the "set of two" because each child has their own tile.
The tile is neatly packed in a sturdy box without invoice — perfect to add to a maternity gift basket or with a bouquet. Pair it with a stuffed animal, a baby bib, or the traditional Dutch beschuit met muisjes (sweet-rusks with sugared anise seeds) for a complete gift.
Yes. With Delft Blue, our AI repaints the photo and text in cobalt brushstrokes — a traditional hand-painted Delft effect. With full colour, you print a regular photo razor-sharp on real ceramic. Many parents pick full colour for the nursery and Delft Blue as a gift for grandparents.
15x15 cm is the classic birth-tile size — fits any windowsill or dresser. 20x20 cm XL is better if you want a photo + name + date + time + weight — more room for detail. Both are real ceramic, fired like a traditional Dutch tile.
Wipe it regularly with a soft, dry cloth. For fingerprints or dust: a slightly damp cloth, then dry it immediately. No cleaning agents — ceramic is naturally low-maintenance. The tile won't fade or discolour, even in indirect sunlight.
Many customers give a tile to the grandparents. Order two in the same style — one for the parents and one for the grandparents. Or add the godparents' names as a subtitle. For christenings it's a wonderful gift from godparents too.
We produce within 24-48 hours and ship immediately after. Order before 17:00 on a weekday and it usually ships the same business day. In the Netherlands and Belgium delivery then takes 1-2 working days. Secure payment with iDEAL, Bancontact, PayPal, Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay, Google Pay, or Klarna.
