Is this really the sky of that night?

Yes. We calculate where every star stood for your coordinates and minute, using the Yale star catalogue and standard astronomical formulas. The Moon appears in its real phase, and Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn and Mercury when they were above the horizon. The centre of the chart is the point straight above your heads.

I do not remember the exact time. What now?

Pick the moment it got dark, or simply 21:00. The sky turns only 15 degrees in an hour, so the constellations are the same. Was it daytime? Then we draw the stars that stood behind the daylight, exactly where they were.

Can it be a place abroad?

Yes, anywhere in the world: a beach on Curaçao, a mountain in Austria, a street in New York. We choose the time zone of that place for you; you can change it. From 1900 to 2099.

How does the line portrait work?

Upload a photo of the two of you with your faces clearly visible. In about 40 seconds we draw a line portrait from it, which goes next to the map in cobalt blue. You see the result before you order. The portrait is optional: without it the design is just as complete.

Will the print look exactly like the preview?

Yes. The preview and the print file come from the same drawing: the same stars, the same map, the same letters. So check the names, date and time carefully, because we print exactly what you see. As every piece is personal, we cannot take it back.
