Rectangular Watercolour Photo Tile

Washes that bleed into each other, soft edges and colours that breathe — on a tile with room to spread out. The Rectangular Watercolour Photo Tile translates your photo into the flowing style of watercolour painting and fires the result onto a landscape ceramic tile of 19.8 by 14.8 centimetres. Prefer portrait? That works too.

What makes this style special?

Our AI's Watercolour style carefully keeps your face, expression and recognisable features, and repaints everything else in delicate washes, subtle colour blending and that dreamy watercolour atmosphere. No hard lines, no busy background: just your portrait on a calm white, the way it would have appeared under a watercolour brush.

On ceramic this style works beautifully. The white surface heightens the soft tones and the transparent character of the washes; the result looks like a watercolour in miniature.

Why this format?

Almost everything we make in ceramic is square. This is not. A landscape surface gives you width: two people fit side by side without anyone being cut off at the edge, and a scene or a landscape gets the air it lacks in a square. Watercolour asks for exactly that room — to the left and right of your subject the colour may run out to white, and that is where a watercolour draws its breath. Rather one person, a full-length shot or a facade? Then turn the tile to portrait.

Who is it for?

A refined, romantic gift for mothers, grandmothers, partners and art lovers. Think of a bride and groom, your children together on the sofa, an owner with their dog, or the house you grew up in. Ideal for Mother's Day, a birthday, an anniversary, or simply because you can.

How do I display it?

Hang it with the hanging eye: a self-adhesive disc with a small brass eye that you stick on the back yourself. Prefer it standing on a shelf, mantel or desk? Choose the wooden tile stand or the black tile stand. Note that a stand only works with the tile in landscape, and that every stand covers a narrow strip of the bottom edge. In portrait, hang the tile on the hanging eye or lean it against the wall without a stand.

The best moments rarely happen alone. This is the tile where they fit side by side — and the style that tells them most gently.
