Rectangular Van Gogh Photo Tile

A Dutch master, a Dutch tile and your own faces in the middle. The Rectangular Van Gogh Photo Tile translates your photo into the vivid style of Vincent van Gogh, with thick visible brushstrokes and rich texture, and fires the result onto a ceramic tile of 19.8 by 14.8 centimetres: landscape by default, and portrait if you would rather.

What makes this style special?

Our AI's Van Gogh style keeps your face, facial structure and characteristic expression exactly as they are, and repaints everything else in swirling, lived-in brushstrokes. Background, clothing and hair take on the typical Van Gogh texture, with warm earth tones, blues and yellows alternating as if fresh from the tube.

On ceramic this style works especially well. The fine texture of the paintwork comes sharply to life on the white surface, and the tile takes on something of a Van Gogh in pocket format.

Why this format?

Almost everything we make in ceramic is square. This is not. A wide surface gives room side by side: two people do not have to be squeezed together, a family fits shoulder to shoulder, and a summer's day gets its horizon. Van Gogh painted his wheat fields and The Potato Eaters in landscape too, and those swirling skies need room around the figures. On this format they get it. Rather have a single portrait, like his self-portraits or the postman? Switch the tile to portrait.

Who is it for?

A gift with taste and history. For art lovers and museum-goers, for a Dutch friend abroad, for a birthday or an anniversary — or as a keepsake of a special moment together.

How do I display it?

Hang it with the hanging eye: a self-adhesive disc with a small brass eye that you stick on the back yourself. Prefer it standing on a shelf, mantel or desk? Choose the wooden tile stand or the black tile stand — a stand only works with the tile in landscape, the way it comes by default. In portrait it is 19.8 cm tall and will not stay put in a stand; hang it with the hanging eye instead, or lean it against the wall without a stand. Note that every stand covers a narrow strip of the bottom edge.
