Almost everything we make in ceramic is square. This is not. The Rectangular Photo Tile stands upright — 14.8 by 19.8 centimetres — and that one difference decides what fits on it.

What makes this format special?

An upright surface is made for a person. A face does not have to be cropped in tight, a full-length shot fits whole, and a facade or a front door stands up straight instead of being squeezed into a square. Next to the classic 15 × 15 this tile reads as a small framed portrait rather than a decoration — the same ceramic, a very different gesture.

Which style will it be?

You upload one photo and then choose how it gets painted. On this format we offer five styles, all five picked because they live on a face and a figure: Street Art Portrait for nerve and colour, Watercolour Painting for softness, Charcoal Drawing for timeless black and white, Van Gogh Style for movement in every stroke, and Abstract Line Art for pure form. The upright surface gives all of them something a square does not: room above the head and below the shoulders, which is what a portrait asks for.

Who is it for?

For the photo with one person in it: your child on the first day of school, your partner, the dog taking up the whole sofa. For a new-baby gift with the newborn at full length. And for your own front door or canal house, captured the way it actually looks: tall and narrow.

How do I display it?

Hang it with a hanging hook we fit to the back. Prefer it standing on a shelf, mantel or desk? Choose the wooden tile stand or the black tile stand — both hold the tile upright. Note that every stand covers a narrow strip of the bottom edge, so keep that in mind if something important sits down there.
