The Delft animal tile — 400 years on
The 17th-century Delft tile painters had a soft spot for animals. Dogs, cats, horses, sheep, birds — at the peak (1640-1740), the Delft factories made entire series with a single animal in a circular medallion, framed by floral corners. Many of those tiles still hang today in the Rijksmuseum, the Boijmans Van Beuningen, and in old Dutch homes.

Op zich een mooi resultaat, alleen werd mijn foto wel echt donker omdat de Delfts blauw stijl met diepe blauwtinten werkt. Een lichtere foto met meer contrast werkt waarschijnlijk beter. Volgende keer beter geprobeerd.

One pet per photo works best; for multiple pets, send a separate clean photo of each and we'll combine them on one tile. We accept JPG, PNG, and HEIC up to 25 MB.
Yes. A pet immortalised in Delft Blue is a loving tribute. Enter the name on line 1 and, for example, "2014 — 2024" on line 2 for the years. We ship in a clean box without an invoice and without cheerful marketing inserts. If you want to adjust something within 12 hours of ordering, just email us.
Our AI follows the coat and colour patterns exactly as they appear in the photo — white chest, black socks, that one floppy ear. The clearer the photo, the closer the likeness. Not sure? Run the free preview first and see if it lands. You only pay once the preview is perfect.
