How dad's tile looks
Real tiles we've made for other sons, daughters, and partners — for inspiration. Works on a photo of dad alone, dad with the kids, or dad doing what he loves.

How it works — in 4 steps
- Step 01
Upload a photo of your father
Straight to the lens, sharp, without sunglasses. A recent photo works best, but an older one is fine too (younger dad, or in memoriam) — when in doubt, upload several.
- Step 02
Type "Dad" + date or message
For example: "Dad — Since 1985", "For the best dad", or for Father's Day "Father's Day 2026". Our AI paints that text into a dignified cartouche flanked by laurel sprigs.
- Step 03
Choose style and size
Classic Delft Blue or full colour. 15×15 cm or 20×20 cm XL. See your preview live in the editor.
- Step 04
Order — we do the rest
We fire your tile within 24-48 hours and ship fast. Secure payment with iDEAL, Bancontact, PayPal, Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay, Google Pay, or Klarna.
The Delft portrait tile — 400 years on
In the peak of Delft ceramics (1640-1740), the tile painters didn't just paint flowers and birds — they painted portraits too. Patriarchs, merchants, fathers of regent families were immortalised in cobalt blue inside a round medallion, framed by floral corners. Many of those portrait tiles still hang today in the Rijksmuseum, the Boijmans Van Beuningen, and in old Dutch homes — a face from 1680 still looking you straight in the eye.
Our Father's Day tiles bring that classic Delftware tradition into a modern key: your photo of dad is translated by our AI into the same cobalt brushstrokes — wrinkle by wrinkle, eye by eye — then printed on real ceramic. No potter's wheel, but the same Dutch warmth that made the original so beloved. And the same longevity: a face that will still look back, fifty years from now.
Two sizes — both real ceramic
For a portrait of dad alone, 15×15 cm works beautifully. For dad-with-the-kids or dad-with-his-hobby (where you want extra detail — faces, a fishing rod, a bicycle), we recommend 20×20 cm XL.
For which moments?

Father's Day — the gift he quietly loves.
For the dad who says "you really shouldn't have" and therefore deserves everything. A portrait in Delft Blue — not a gadget, not socks-with-text, not yet another bottle of whisky. Something that goes on the wall. And stays.
Dad with the (grand)kids — together on one tile.
A photo of dad with his children or grandchildren, immortalised in cobalt blue. That Sunday-afternoon moment, on the sofa, the little one on his knee — forever on real ceramic.
In memoriam — for the dad no longer here.
For the one you can no longer call on Sunday. "Dad — 1953 — 2024" in a dignified laurel cartouche. A tribute that holds all his years — not sorrowful, but loving.
Retirement, 60th birthday, or milestone.
For the dad just retiring, or hitting sixty. A tile that marks the milestone — and ends up next to his bookcase, not buried in a drawer.
From a partner — the father of your children.
For the man who puts the kids to bed every night. A portrait of him as the children see him — not as your partner, but as their dad. The gift he never would have thought of, but never wants to be without.
The most personal Father's Day gift you can give
A Delft Blue Father's Day tile is a personal tribute that lands deeper than another bottle of whisky or a name-printed sock. We paint your father into the tile in cobalt brushstrokes — wrinkle by wrinkle, glasses by glasses, beard by beard — in the same style as the 17th-century Delft portrait tiles now hanging in the Rijksmuseum. No sticker, no print: real handmade ceramic that will still read "Dad" fifty years from now.
Whether you're looking for a Father's Day gift for the dad who always says "you don't have to", a retirement gift for the father who just had his last day at work, a memorial tile for a dad no longer here, or a gift from a partner to the father of her children — a Delft Blue Father's Day tile fits every moment. Many customers buy two as a set: dad alone, and dad-with-the-grandkids.

What customers say
5 out of 5 starsEcht een oer-Hollands cadeau
5 out of 5 starsSouvenir voor Australische vriend
5 out of 5 starsWerkt op alle foto's super
Heb 3 verschillende foto's geprobeerd: portret, landschap en groepsfoto. Bij alle drie kwam het Delfts blauw effect prachtig uit. Het keramiek voelt premium aan en de tegelhouder erbij maakt het af. Aanrader!
4 out of 5 starsMooi tegeltje, donkerblauw was wel echt donker
Op zich een mooi resultaat, alleen werd mijn foto wel echt donker omdat de Delfts blauw stijl met diepe blauwtinten werkt. Een lichtere foto met meer contrast werkt waarschijnlijk beter. Volgende keer beter geprobeerd.
Frequently asked questions about the Father's Day tile
A sharp photo straight to the lens, indoors or in soft daylight, without sunglasses and without harsh shadows over the face. A recent photo works best, but an older one is fine too (younger dad, or in memoriam). One person per photo works most cleanly; for dad-with-the-(grand)kids, many customers send one shared photo. We accept JPG, PNG, and HEIC up to 25 MB.
Absolutely. Upload a photo of dad with his children or grandchildren — ideally close together, with sharp faces. Our AI translates everyone together into cobalt brushstrokes. For two or more people on one tile we recommend 20×20 cm XL: more room for portrait detail, and nobody ends up tiny.
Yes. Alongside "Dad" (line 1) you can type up to 3 extra lines — for example a date ("Since 1985"), a short tribute ("For the best dad"), or the children's names ("From Lily, John and Sophie"). We paint that text into a dignified laurel cartouche. Keep it short — max ~40 characters per line reads best.
Yes. A father immortalised in Delft Blue is a loving tribute. Enter "Dad" on line 1 and, for example, "1953 — 2024" on line 2 for the years. We ship in a clean box without an invoice and without cheerful marketing inserts. Many customers order this specifically in the run-up to the first Father's Day without him.
Father's Day in the Netherlands is Sunday 21 June 2026. Orders placed at least a week earlier (around Tue 16 June) arrive comfortably in time in NL. We fire your tile within 24-48 hours and ship fast. Order before 17:00 and your tile leaves the same business day. For BE/DE/FR/IT/ES/PL, allow a few extra days for shipping.
Up to 4 lines in a dignified laurel cartouche at the top: "Dad" (required), date (optional — a year "Since 1985", a range "1953 — 2024", or "Father's Day 2026"), and optionally a short message ("For the best dad", "Thanks for everything"). Keep it short — max ~40 characters per line reads best.
